Just outside of Chicago, in Merrillville Indiana, the Hoiliday Star Theatre was an entertainment and hotel mecca affiliated with Holiday Inn. It later became the Star Plaza Theatre and the hotel facility adjacent to it was operated by Radisson Hotels. The theatre was 3,400 seats. Many of the shows offered a full buffet dinner with tickets before the show.

In operation for 38 years, the Star Theatre opened in December 1979 and closed it doors in December 2017. Demolition of the entire property was completed in 2018.
